WEBSITE CARE PLANS

Launch day is the start, not the finish line.

An optional add-on to any Launceston web design project — hosting, updates and small content changes handled on an ongoing basis, so the site you paid to have built keeps working for you.

✓Hosting, backups and security patches handled for you
✓WordPress core and plugin updates tested before they go live
✓Small content changes without waiting on a one-off invoice
✓Optional — the site is yours outright either way
THE PROBLEM

A site that’s never touched again slowly falls behind.

WordPress, its plugins and the PHP running underneath all get updated regularly — often for genuine security reasons. Ignore those updates and the site becomes a slowly growing risk; apply them blindly with no one checking and an update can just as easily break something quietly in the background. Most small businesses don’t have the time or the reason to watch either of those things closely, which is exactly the gap a care plan is built to cover.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

What we actually keep on top of.

Hosting, backups and security

Reliable hosting, regular backups, and security patches applied on a schedule — the unglamorous groundwork that keeps a site online and out of trouble.

Updates, tested before they land

WordPress core and plugin updates checked on a staging copy first, so an update that would break something gets caught before it ever reaches your live site.

Small changes, without the friction

New photos, updated prices, a tweaked paragraph — the kind of small change that’s not worth a one-off invoice but adds up to a site that stays current.

IT DOESN’T STOP AT MAINTENANCE

A care plan is also where ongoing SEO lives.

Rankings aren’t a set-and-forget outcome — competitors update their own sites, search algorithms shift, and a listing left untouched slowly loses ground. Most of our ongoing local SEO work happens under a care plan for exactly that reason. It’s especially worth having on anything with moving parts — a store or a custom web application has more that can genuinely need attention over time than a static brochure page.

FAQ

Common questions.

Is a care plan compulsory after my site is built?

No. You own the site outright after handover, hosting included in your original build or otherwise, and there’s no obligation to sign up for anything ongoing. A care plan is there for businesses who’d rather it was handled than manage it themselves.

What counts as a “small change” under the plan?

Generally anything that takes a few minutes rather than a few hours — swapping a photo, updating a price or opening hours, fixing a typo. Bigger requests, like a new page or a redesigned section, are scoped and quoted separately.

Can I start a care plan on a site you didn’t build?

Usually yes, once we’ve had a look at the site to understand what we’d be taking on. We’ll be upfront if the existing build has issues that would need addressing first.
