One studio, twenty-five years, nothing lost in the handover.
CrunchPixels started in 2000 as a design studio — wireframes, branding, print, and some of the first websites a lot of businesses ever had. It’s still run by the same person, and it still starts the same way: with a conversation about what you actually need, not a package you’re asked to choose from.
What’s changed is the range.
Through the 2010s, Jason worked across two disciplines that don’t usually share an office. On one side, video production and cinematography for corporate and commercial clients — turning a campaign brief into something people actually want to watch. On the other, hundreds of business websites built on WordPress and MySQL, most of which quietly became something bigger than a website: custom CRMs, automated quoting and invoicing, asset management portals, safety compliance platforms, learning management systems. The unglamorous machinery that keeps a business running, built to fit the business instead of forcing the business to fit the software.
Then came the long-form work.
From 2020 to 2023, Jason directed, produced and shot feature-length documentaries — FoundHers, Women in Science, Women in Design, and the Black & Gold German Shepherd documentary — alongside TV commercials, handling the edit, the colour grade and the original score himself. Long-form work teaches you things a thirty-second spot can’t: how to hold attention, how to build a story that earns its ending, and how to keep a crew, a budget and a schedule moving in the same direction.
Most of the pain in a project happens in the gaps between specialists.
All of it now lives under CrunchPixels. Most projects need more than one specialist, and most of the pain happens in the gaps between them — the videographer who doesn’t know how the site is built, the developer who doesn’t know what the brand is meant to feel like, the agency that hands you a beautiful website and no way to run your business through it.
CrunchPixels closes those gaps by keeping the work in one place. The person who shoots your film is the person who cuts it, scores it, builds the page it lives on, and makes sure that page can be found. That means fewer handovers, fewer things lost in translation, and a single point of accountability when something needs to change.
Five disciplines, one point of accountability.

Not sure which you need?
Tell us what the business needs to do and we’ll tell you which of these gets you there, even if it’s just one.
Talk it throughIf you know exactly what you want, we’ll build it. If you only know the problem, that’s a good place to start too — most of the best projects here began as a conversation about something that wasn’t working.
